League Challenge Highlights

Toronto's Premier Leagues competing with approximately 7,000 members, 400 teams, and over 100 clubs and communities representing the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

All three leagues are recognized as national best practices for their leadership, organization and structure.

Each league has varying levels of competition to accommodate skill levels and playing ability of all participants.

League matches occur on a weekly basis during the spring and summer months with playoffs for top teams in the men's and mixed league.

Top league teams will be showcased during the Rogers Cup finals weekend.

Prizes will be awarded to winning teams on centre stage during the Rogers Cup finals weekend.

Special league activities will be included during the Rogers Cup and throughout the year.

An online contest with a grand prize from Miele will be available for all league participants 18 years and older who have competed in at least two league matches in the 2008 season.
Tennis Canada has joined together with Miele Ltd., the Toronto Ladies Tennis League (TLTL), the Toronto Men's Tennis League (TMTL), and the Inter County Tennis Association (ICTA) with the support of the Ontario Tennis Association (OTA) to promote the newly created Miele League Challenge. This partnership provides a platform for some of the country's top leagues to showcase their rich tradition of excellence and talent during the Rogers Cup final weekend at the Rexall Centre. Showcasing the leagues' top teams during the Rogers Cup helps celebrate tennis as a sport for life, and encourages participation in the league system. The Miele League Challenge has a vision to grow over time to become a national league challenge hosting the top leagues in Canada during the Rogers Cup.

Throughout the league season

A special micro website and newsletter has been created specifically to highlight weekly matches
Miele League Challenge ambassadors will visit league matches during the week to promote the Challenge, provide prize giveaways for team members, write articles for the newsletter and take photos for regular updating to the website
All league constituents will have an opportunity to purchase Rogers Cup suites and tickets at discounted prices
All league constituents who have played in at least two regular season league matches will be eligible to enter an online contest with a grand prize that includes a Rogers Cup VIP package of tickets and catered dinner for 10 at the Miele Vaughn Gallery valued at approximately $5,000.
League volunteers and executives will be hosted in Tennis Canada suites during an identified session of the Rogers Cup

League Benefits

Inter County Tennis Association
The top two teams in the mixed majors division of the Inter County Tennis Association's Mixed League will be showcased at the Rexall Centre with matches during semi-finals Saturday of the 2008 Rogers Cup. The league will receive a number of grounds passes for players and their families for the day, and select league matches will be Web cast live on the Miele League Challenge website for constituents who cannot make it to the Rogers Cup.
The Miele League Challenge will host and support the ICTA year-end playoffs at the Rexall Centre in September, in similar fashion to the 2007 ICTA playoffs.

Toronto Ladies Tennis League
The top two teams in the premier evening division and the top two teams of the day league division will be showcased on July 26th at the Rexall Centre during the final Sunday of the 2008 Rogers Cup. Similar grounds passes and Web casting will be made available for players and constituents
Also during the Rogers Cup, a number of doubles teams will be eligible for special doubles coaching clinics. Six one-hour sessions will be conducted by during the week by Tennis Canada National Coach Simon Bartram and Granite Club Head Pro Gary Caron, both level 3 certified coaches. Grounds passes will be provided to players and their families for the day
The Miele League Challenge will contribute to the year-end banquet at the Donalda Club in September

The Toronto Men's Tennis League
The top two teams in the AI division and the top two teams in the A2 division will showcase matches prior to the final of the 2008 Rogers Cup.
