Playing her first ITF Pro Circuit tournament since 2012 on Wednesday, Eugenie Bouchard needed three sets to get through her opening round match at the $80,000 Indian Harbour Beach tournament in Florida.
The 23-year-old defeated American qualifier Brianna Morgan 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 to win her first match since the Australian Open in January. She will next face world no. 305 Anhelina Kalinina of Ukraine. Bouchard last played on the ITF circuit more than 4 years ago in Phoenix. This is also her first clay event of 2017.
