While Milos Raonic was defeated by Roger Federer at Wimbledon today, Canadians Carson Branstine and Gabriela Dabrowski both advanced in their respective draws at the All England Club.
Actually, Branstine, Canada’s lone player in the junior draws, was a winner in both singles and doubles. In singles, she defeated Mai Hontama of Japan 6-4, 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals and triumphed in her opening doubles match with Mara Kostyuk of Ukraine. Branstine will face third-seeded American Claire Liu for a spot in the semifinals.

In mixed doubles, French Open champions Dabrowski and Rohan Bopanna defeated Croats Ana Konjuh and Nikola Mektic 7-6(5), 6-2 to advance to the quarter-finals. Daniel Nestor and Andreja Klepac were eliminated in the third round on Wednesday.
