Indoor champions crowned at women’s eastern senior national championships

The indoor seniors tennis swing continued over the weekend, with the Women’s Eastern Canadian Senior Indoor National Championships wrapping up at Club Sportif Cote de Liesse in Montreal.

Champions were crowned across 14 singles and doubles draws ranging from the over-35 to over-70 age categories. Among the women going home with trophies are Cristina Popescu, singles and doubles winner in the over-35 tournament, over-40 and over-45 doubles champion Abigail Liu, and dual victor Janice Hebert in the over-55 draw.

Next up in seniors tennis is the indoor national championships for eastern men aged 35-55, which will take also place at Club Sportif Cote de Liesse from April 19-23. The circuit then travels to the Royal Glenora Club and Saville Sports Centre in Edmonton for the men’s and women’s Western Canadian Senior Indoor Championships from April 26-30.
