American Kevin King became the $25,000 Donalda Futures champion on Saturday, following his 6-1, 6-2 victory over Roberto Cid Subervi of the Dominican Republic in the final round.
In front of a capacity crowd of 150 people, The No. 3 seed had two aces in the hour-and-fourteen-minute long contest. King broke his opponent five times and limited Cid Subervi to just one break opportunity of his own. The official Rogers Cup ball crew provided support for the final.
The ITF Futures trophy is the second of the year for the 26-year-old, and fifth of his career. King previously picked up a Futures title at an event in Villahermosa, Mexico this past May.
The $25,000 Donalda Futures ran from September 4-10 at the Donalda Club in Don Mills, Toronto. For full draws and complete results, please visit the official tournament website here.
