After four straight wins, Vasek Pospisil saw his impressive run at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California come to an end in the third round on Monday night at the hands of Serbia’s Dusan Lajovic
Two days after earning the biggest win of his career over World No. 1 Andy Murray, Pospisil appeared well on his way to a spot in the Round of 16 as he jumped out to a 7-6(4), 3-2 lead with a break before fellow qualifier Lajovic mounted a comeback. He won four straight games to force a decisive third set.
In the final frame, Pospisil held a match point while serving for it at 5-4, but was unable to convert his chance. Lajovic broke serve in the game and never looked back en route to a 6-7(4), 6-3, 7-5 victory.
Pospisil will return to the court later tonight for his second round doubles match alongside American Steve Johnson.
