PETER KRUYT – Director
Peter Kruyt obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University as well as an MBA from from Insead in Fontainebleau, France. He joined Power Corporation in 1981, as Executive Assistant to the Chairman and CEO, then as the Vice-President from 1996 to 2017. Today, he is a senior advisory to the company.
Beyond his dedicated work at the Power Corporation, M. Kruyt has also been involved in a number of other initiatives throughout his career. He was a member of the advisory board of the School of Business at Memorial University of Newfoundland, a director of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters and chaired the Government Task Force on Digital Radio in 1992.
Since 2003, M. Kruyt has served as the Chairman of the Canada China Business Council and became a member of the Board of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada in 2016. Named to the Board of Concordia University in 2000, he assumed the Chair from 2005 to 2012. He currently serves as a director of Montreal International and was appointed Chairman of the Board of the McGill University Health Centre in 2017 and Chairman of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre in 2019.
