Daniel Nestor beats Stefan Edberg in Davis Cup

At just 19 years old, on January 31, 1992 inside the PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, Nestor would make waves by upsetting then-No. 1 Stefan Edberg in a comeback five-set thriller 4-6 6-3 1-6 6-3 6-4 in what was the start of a 20 year Davis Cup career for Canada.

Simon Larose tops Kuerten in Montreal

In 2003, Simon Larose posted the biggest win of his career 7-5, 7-6(2) over former World No. 1 Gustavo Kuerten came on his home court in the first round of the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank in Montreal. “Guga” was ranked no. 14 in the world at the time and had no answers for Larose’s big serve .

Frank Dancevic over Andy Roddick in Indy

Frank Dancevic advanced to his first ATP final in Indianapolis by defeating then world no. 5 Andy Roddick 6-4, 7-6(1) in the semifinals. It was also his first win over a Top 5 player. Dancevic was defeated in the final by Dimitry Tursunov.

Dubois outlasts Kirilenko

In one of the most emotional matches ever played on Centre Court at STADE IGA, Stéphanie Dubois knocked out then world no. 20 Maria Kirlienko in a third set tiebreak to reach the third round at Rogers Cup in Montreal for the second straight tournament.

Wozniak beats Bartoli to win first WTA title

In 2008, Aleksandra Wozniak became the first Canadian WTA singles champion twenty years when she beat Marion Bartoli to win the Stanford title. Wozniak had to qualify just to get into the main draw.

Raonic gets Verdasco two weeks in a row

During his breakthrough season in 2011, Milos Raonic disposed of Spaniard Fernando Verdasco to take home his first of three consecutive singles titles in San Jose. The following week, Raonic beat Verdasco again in the semifinals to reach his second straight final in Memphis where he fell to Andy Roddick in a three set thriller.

Bouchard shines in her Wimbledon Centre Court debut

Eugenie Bouchard stepped onto famed Centre Court at Wimbledon for the first time in 2013, when she was ranked no. 66 in the world, and put forth a virtually flawless performance to defeat Ana Ivanovic 6-3, 6-3 to reach the third round.

Pospisil gets first Top 10 win over Berdych

Vasek Pospisil notched the first Top 10 win of his career when he defeated Tomas Berdych 7-5 in a third set tiebreak to reach his first Masters 1000 quarter-final at the Rogers Cup in Montreal. He went on to make the semifinals where he was ousted by Milos Raonic in an historic all-Canadian semi.
