Frank Dancevic put up a good fight but was unable to pull off the upset against world No. 17 Gael Monfils in the opening rubber of Canada’s Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group first round tie against France. After falling 6-3, 6-1, 6-3, Canada now trails France 1-0.

Vasek Pospisil will take the court in Guadeloupe next to try and even the score against Gilles Simon. Matches are being aired live on Sportsnet ONE and TVA Sports.
