Canadian Frank Dancevic is just one victory away from extending his win streak to 20 matches and earning his fourth consecutive title thanks to a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over American Noah Rubin in the $15,000 Mayfair Futures semifinals at Mayfair Parkway in Markham, Ont. on Saturday.
Dancevic celebrated his 31st birthday by continuing to dominate the field. The No. 1 seed defeated his No. 6-seeded opponent in just 46 minutes, losing only seven points on his serve all match and going a perfect five-for-five on break chance opportunities.
He has not dropped a set all week, with all four of his matches lasting less than one hour each.
The final will be a re-match of the Tevlin Futures championship just one week ago, as No. 2 seed Sanam Singh of India posted a 7-6(3), 6-2 win over No. 7-seeded American Jared Hiltzik to make his second straight final.
In the Tevlin Futures final, played at Aviva Centre, Dancevic won over Singh 6-3, 6-2. They also recently faced each other in Calgary Futures quarter-finals at the beginning of September, with the longtime Canadian Davis Cup team member winning again by a score of 7-6(2), 6-3.
Dancevic will face off versus Singh for the Mayfair Futures title at 12 p.m. ET on Sunday at Mayfair Parkway in Markham, Ont. Admission is free and fans are encouraged to attend. For the complete draws and results from the Mayfair Futures, please visit the ITF website.
