Daniel Nestor and Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin are into their second straight semifinal after defeating Colombians Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah 6-3, 6-4 in the Shanghai Rolex Masters quarter-finals in China on Friday.
It was a clean triumph, clinched in just over one hour with Nestor and Roger-Vasselin earning one break per set while saving the only break point they faced all match.
The win was No. 996 of Nestor’s career, as he inches ever closer to hitting 1,000 match victories.
Next up for the No. 7-seeded pair, who finished as runners-up at Beijing last week, are this year’s Australian Open champions Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini of Italy, the tournament’s No. 5 seeds.
