Daniel Nestor and French partner Edouard Roger-Vasselin opened their Swiss Indoors campaign with a victory on Wednesday, advancing past Americans John Isner and Jack Sock 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 to make the quarter-finals in Basel.

Nestor now has 998 career match victories, and is just two away from becoming the first ATP World Tour player in history to reach 1,000 doubles wins. He will hit the incredible milestone this week if he and Roger-Vasselin make the final.

Next up for the pair will be No. 3 seeds Jamie Murray of Great Britain and John Peers from Australia. Their quarter-final duel will take place on Thursday.
