Tennis Canada announced Sunday that Eugenie Bouchard (Montreal, QC) has confirmed that she will lead Canada in the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group play-off tie against Romania on April 18 and 19 at Maurice-Richard Arena in Montreal.

‘’It’s special to me that next week’s Fed Cup tie is taking place in my hometown of Montreal.  I hope that everyone comes out to watch some great tennis and support Team Canada,’’ said Bouchard.

Last year, Bouchard helped Canada reach the World Group for the first time in the team’s history. She won both of her matches against Serbia in February, losing a total of just four games. Last April, the 21-year-old once again earned two valuable points against Slovakia.

“We are very happy that we will be able to count on Eugenie for our next Fed Cup tie. She is a great leader and the cornerstone of our team,” said Sylvain Bruneau, captain of the Canadian Fed Cup team. “Having our no. 1 player and home court advantage really helped us in 2014.”

Fans can still purchase tickets starting at $30 for both days and $20 per day. A special rate is also available for students who can buy tickets for as little as $15. Tickets can be purchased by calling 514-790-1245 or 1-855-790-1245. They can be purchased in person at STADE IGA, or online by clicking here.

The matches will be broadcast live on TVA Sports and Sportsnet beginning at 1 p.m. E.T. on Saturday and Sunday.
