Fifteen year old Leylah Annie Fernandez finds herself on a 12 match win streak after taking her second title in as many weeks, this time at the HAP International Junior Tournament, a Grade 2 ITF event in Haifa, Israel.

Fernandez defeated Viktoriya Kanapatskaya of Belarus 6-0, 6-7(7), 7-6(4) in the championship final on Saturday. After lifting the trophy last week in Raanana without dropping a set, Fernandez pushed to three sets on three occasions in six matches this week.

Thanks to her two titles in Israel, Fernandez will see her ranking rise to somewhere around no. 115 on the ITF junior rankings. When she arrived in Israel she was ranked no. 488. Fernandez will look to make it three straight this week at the Marshall Open in Kiryat Shmona, a Grade 3 event where she will be joined in the draw by her compatriots Ariana Arseneault and Alexandra Vagramov.

Meanwhile, Chih Chi Huang, a member of Tennis Canada’s NTC, was a finalist at the Grade 3 tournament in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
