Tennis Canada announced on Wednesday that Montreal natives Ms. Josée Noiseux and M. Peter Kruyt have been named to Tennis Canada’s Board of Directors. They will take the place of M. John LeBoutillier and M. Marc Bibeau who have completed their mandates after 11 and 10 years of service, respectively.

“We are very excited to welcome our new members,” stated Jennifer Bishop, newly appointed Chair of the Board. “We have two individuals who have created a name for themselves in their respective fields; they bring with them a fresh point of view as well as unique expertise. We believe that they will bring new ideas to the table and will play a significant role in the direction of tennis in Canada as we are entering an important era. I would also like to thank John LeBoutillier and Marc Bibeau for their exceptional contribution over the last decade.”

A lawyer and a partner at the international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright for more than 20 years, Ms. Noiseux is not only well-known for her leadership skills and business savvy, but also for her keen interest and her involvement in philanthropic work. She is President and CEO of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Montreal Contemporary Art Museum and a former director of the St-Mary’s Hospital Foundation and Global Goodness and a member of the McGill University Advisory Committee.

Kruyt joined Power Corporation in 1981 and was the vice-president from 1996 to 2017. Today, he is a senior advisor to the company. From 2003 until 2018, Mr. Kruyt has served as the Chairman of the Canada-China Business Council and became a member of the Board of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada in 2016. Named to the Board of Concordia University in 2000, he assumed the Chair from 2005 to 2012. He currently serves as a director of Montreal International and was appointed Chairman of the Board of the McGill University Health Centre in 2017 and Chairman of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre in 2019.

Ms. Noiseux and M. Kruyt join the current Board of Directors chaired by the Chair, Jennifer Bishop: Matthew Akman, Penny Ballem, Marcia Ellen Jackson, Jack Graham, Richard Harris, Sébastien LeBlanc, Nadir Mohamed, Derrick Rowe, Sam Sebastian and Mike Tevlin.
