It was smiles all around on Friday at the Longueuil Sports Complex. Close to 450 spectators gathered for the 38th final of the Montreal Women’s Interclub League (TFIM). Sixteen teams battled for medals in four different playing categories.
The team from Longueuil took on Île-des-Sœurs in the level 1 gold medal match and it was Longueuil who came out on top in a tight contest. Brossard was dominant otherwise, taking gold in the three other categories.
Matches were played in a festive atmosphere that included an MC, smoothie stations, music, and close to 50 volunteers, who helped make the event a great success. The day concluded with a banquet and lots of dancing.
The TFIM finals is a high level sporting event and a celebration of tennis. The ladies of the biggest women’s doubles league in North America work hard all year to qualify for the finals.
