Daniel Nestor has continued his winning ways of late, advancing into the semifinals of the Winston-Salem Open in North Carolina on Thursday with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Spaniards Pablo Carreno Busta and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez alongside partner Lukasz Kubot of Poland.
Nestor and Kubot, the No. 1 seeds, picked up the decisive win in less than an hour. They saved the only break point they faced the entire match while claiming three of their opponents’ service games.
Next up for the Canadian-Polish pair is Americans Eric Butorac and Scott Lipsky. Nestor will be aiming to make his third consecutive final after also competing for the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank in Montreal and Cincinnati titles the past two weekends.
