At 43 years of age, Daniel Nestor has reached his first Grand Slam final since 2012 at the Australian Open in Melboune.

He and partner Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic defeated Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers 7-6(11), 6-4 Thursday’s semifinals. They will face Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares for the title on Saturday.

This is Nestor’s 17th Grand Slam final and first since he was crowned champion of the French Open in 2012. It’s his fifth Australian Open final and first since 2010. Nestor captured his lone Australian Open men’s doubles trophy in 2002 alongside Mark Knowles.
