Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock were defeated 2-6, 6-3,10-5 by the second-seeded team of Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo in the final of the BNP Paribas Masters on Sunday in Paris.

The loss means that Pospisock will be the first alternate team for the ATP World Tour Finals in London beginning next weekend. A win on Sunday would have given the popular Canadian-American duo the eighth and final spot for the season-ending event.

Pospisil and Sock finish 2015 with a pair of titles at Indian Wells and Beijing as well as three Masters 1000 finals in California, Miami, and Paris.
