Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ON) captured his second career ATP World Tour doubles title on Saturday at the Grand Prix Hassan II, a 250 event in Casablanca, Morocco.

Shamasdin and his partner Rameez Junaid of Australia upset the top-seeded team of Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea 3-6, 6-2, 10-7 in the final.

Shamasdin was playing in his third ATP final and first since 2011. He won his maiden ATP doubles crown in 2011 at the tournament in Johannesburg with James Cerretani. The 32-year-old doubles specialist is currently ranked no. 62 in the world and reached a career-high of no. 58 four years ago. Shamasdin should set a new career best on Monday.
