Denis Shapovalov will be making his U.S. Open main draw debut today and will be looking to build on his magical run to the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank semifinals a few weeks ago.

The 18-year-old will also be looking to solidify his place in the Emirates ATP Race to Milan and the Next Gen ATP Finals. Shapovalov currently sits sixth in the Race just a handful of points behind Jared Donaldson and Andrey Rublev, who sit fourth and fifth, respectively.

The top seven players aged 21 and under will automatically qualify for the inaugural Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan in November while the eighth player will be determined by wild card.

Some of the contenders, including Shapovalov, gathered New York ahead of the U.S. Open for a promotional photo and video shoot.
