Milos Raonic has begun to find his groove at the BNP Paribas Open, and he’ll look to keep it going against Sam Querrey in Friday’s quarter-final in Indian Wells, California.
After winning just one of his first four matches to start the year, Raonic defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime and Joao Sousa, and advanced to his first quarter-final of 2018 after Marcos Baghdatis withdrew in the Round of 16.
But he faces a difficult test against Sam Querrey.
Querrey, the 6’6” American, has served 45 aces in his first three matches while only giving up three breaks of serve. Querrey is seeking his first semifinal appearance at the BNP Paribas Open in his thirteenth straight year playing the event.
Raonic, meanwhile, would reach his first semifinal at an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament since 2016 with a win on Friday.
