Fifteen-year-old Félix Auger-Aliassime of Quebec will play for the junior boys’ title at Roland-Garros on Sunday.
In Saturday’s semifinals, Auger-Alissiame defeated Spaniard Nicola Kuhn 6-4, 6-2 to reach his first junior Grand Slam singles final.
Denis Shapovalov (Thornhill, ON) was unable to make it an all-Canadian boys’ final after falling 6-7(4), 7-5, 6-3 to Geoffrey Blancaneaux of France in the other semifinal.
This will be the first meeting between Auger-Aliassime and Blancaneaux.
Auger-Aliassime is the first Canadian to reach a junior Grand Slam singles final since Filip Peliwo at the U.S. Open in 2012. He will be trying to win his second Major crown after capturing the U.S. Open doubles title last fall alongside Shapovalov.
