Eugenie Bouchard’s first match in Canada’s Fed Cup tie vs. Romania is getting closer.
The 21-year-old world No. 7 did some final prep for her match vs. Alexandra Dulgheru this morning, hitting the practice courts with teammate Sharon Fichman to work on groundstrokes, returns, volleys and serves.
With coach Sam Sumyk looking on, and as crowds started to enter Maurice Richard arena, it was all business for Genie who looked sharp and focused.
Bouchard also practiced with 18-year-old teammate Françoise Abanda Friday afternoon. Abanda opens play for the Canadians today at 1 pm ET. Catch the match live on OLN and the rebroadcast on Sportsnet ONE at 7 pm ET.
