Dominika Cibulkova posted her first win over Eugenie Bouchard in three tries on Saturday at Wimbledon. On Court 2 at the All-England Club, the Slovak had Bouchard on her heels throughout their third round match thanks to her aggressive baseline game. She was also successful on 80 percent of her rushes to the net en route to posting a 6-4, 6-3 victory. A frustrated Bouchard was assessed two code violations. Cibulkova advances to the Round of 16 at Wimbledon for the first time since 2011 where she will face Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland.
Simultaneously on Centre Court, Milos Raonic improved his record to 8-1 against American Jack Sock after a 7-6(2), 6-4, 7-6(1) victory to reach the fourth round. Raonic hit an impressive total of 60 winners in the match and has not yet lost a set in the tournament. He will face Belgium’s David Goffin, ranked no. 11 in the world.
