Vasek Pospisil captured the sixth ATP Challenger Tour title of his career on Sunday at the Open de Rennes in France.
The 27-year-old, seeded second in the tournament, did not drop a set en route to the trophy, earning his third win in five tries over Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania 6-1, 6-2 in the final, a match in which he hit nine aces and saved all five break points he faced. In fact, he was only broken once all week.
This is Pospisil’s first Challenger title since he claimed top honours at the Busan Challenger in Korea last May. This victory, coupled with him playing his way through qualifying and into the Australian Open main draw, means that Pospisil will climb back inside the Top 100 on the ATP rankings somewhere inside the top 85.

Pospisil should be full of confidence when he arrives in Osijek to represent Canada in Davis Cup World Group first round action against Croatia this week.
