Milos Raonic continued his French Open preparations on Wednesday at the Internazional BNL d’Italia in Rome, the second ATP Masters 1000 event of the clay court season.
The Canadian needed a little more than an hour to defeat 39-year-old veteran Tommy Haas 6-4, 6-3 to reach the Round of 16. Raonic was dominant on serve, losing just 13 points, hitting 10 aces and saving both break points he faced.
On Thursday, Raonic will face Tomas Berdych. The 26-year-old has won four of his six previous meetings against the Czech, but Berdych won their only previous encounter on clay in Monte Carlo in 2015.
