Seventeen-year-old Charlotte Robillard-Millette (Blainville, QC) fell in the semifinals of the ITF Junior Masters on Saturday in Chengdu, China to her good friend Katie Swan of Great Britain.
Both players appeared nervous out of the gate and were struggling to hold their serve. After losing the first set 6-3, Robillard-Millette made the second set closer before Swan won the final two games from 5-5. The victory was the Brit’s third straight win over the Canadian.
The junior world No. 3 admitted after the match that it was difficult to face a friend.
Robillard-Millette will face American Kayla Day on Sunday to decide who finishes third and fourth in this prestigious tournament.
