Charlotte Robillard-Millette (Blainville, QC) won two of her three matches to finish third at the prestigious ITF Junior Masters in Chengdu, China.
The 17-year-old defeated American Kayla Day, ranked no. 6 on the ITF junior rankings, 7-6(6), 6-2 in one hour, 34 minutes, in her final match to find herself on the podium.
Despite dropping serve five times in the match, Robillard-Millette, ranked no. 9 in the world, played a strong return game to break her opponent’s serve eight times.
Russia’s Anna Blinkova took home the title after defeating Brit Katie Swan 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 in the final.
