An all-Canadian final decided the champion on Sunday at the $25,000 Little Rock Futures in Arkansas.
Both playing in their first final of the season, Brayden Schnur of Pickering, Ontario topped Vancouver’s Philip Bester 7-6(4), 6-1 to claim the trophy.
For Schnur, ranked no. 362 in the world, the win is the fourth ITF Futures singles title of his career and his first since being crowned champion of the Tallahassee Futures in December of 2016.
This is the second week in a row that a Canadian has won a Futures titles. Filip Peliwo took home top honours in Egypt last week.
