BTC WORKSHOPS OVERVIEW

The annual BTC Conference is all about Community Champions, an amazing group of men and women who are totally committed to growing tennis in their communities.  They build relationships with community representatives from education, parks and recreation, local clubs and city council to advocate for the contributions that the sport of tennis can make to community health.  They, with the help of other volunteers, offer opportunities for kids, adults and seniors of all abilities to learn tennis and get active.

The 3-day Conference is a vehicle to educate and train the Champions in the BTC Strategy, and also provides Champions with the skills and knowledge necessary to return to their communities and successfully manage and deliver the programs in their community. Conference sessions reflect the needs of the Champions and the stages they are at in the strategy, and cover topics such as partnership development, revenue generation, marketing and communication, and participant tracking. It provides an opportunity for Champions to network with each other and Provincial partners, meet and exchange ideas with Tennis Canada, share success stories, and best of all, to play tennis with each other. Champions, partners and Tennis Canada staff alike leave the workshop feeling motivated and with a much higher comfort level regarding how to address their responsibilities.

Community Champions attend this workshop to secure their community funding. Community Champions from graduated BTC communities also attend to share experiences with their peers and learn new methods to assist in making their tennis communities healthier.

Tennis Canada covers the expenses of all attendees as part of its commitment to the BTC Strategy, healthy tennis communities and Community Tennis.
