Genie Bouchard finishes her 2017 season with a runner-up finish in doubles at the BGL BNP Paribas Open in Luxembourg. Bouchard and partner Kirsten Flipkens lost in the final to Lesley Kerkhove/Lidziya Marozava 6-7(4), 6-4, 10-6.

They posted an impressive road to the final: 1R victory over Irigoyen/Lister 6-1, 6-0, QF upset over no. 4 seeds Golubic/Jurak 6-2, 6-3, and a semifinal comeback win over Friedsam/Lottner 5-7, 7-5, 10-4.
This was Bouchard’s second doubles final of 2017 – she previously made the final in Washington, D.C., with partner Sloane Stephens.

With an appearance in the Luxembourg final, Bouchard has now reached at least two WTA finals in four of the five years since she turned pro.
Bouchard’s 2017 has now come to an end. She will begin 2018 at the Hopman Cup in Perth, Australia, representing Canada with Vasek Pospisil. This will be Bouchard’s third time playing Hopman Cup and first time since 2015.
