With the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group play-offs right around the corner, both Canada and India have already begun their preparations for the September 15-17 tie.
This past week saw NextGen talent Denis Shapovalov walk the red carpets of the Toronto International Film Festival. On Monday morning, the 18-year-old rising star has swapped the red carpet attire for his team jacket, as he and other members of the Canadian Davis Cup squad landed in Alberta’s capital city over the weekend.

Canada had their first practice of the week at Northlands Coliseum later in the morning. Following their morning hit, team captain Martin Laurendeau and Vasek Pospisil took part in a media scrum.
Team India also arrived in Alberta this week, following a seven-day training session at Columbia University’s indoor training facility in New York.
While the Indian team now adjusts to the courts in Edmonton, veteran team member Rohan Bopanna took the chance to turn the camera on his teammates to learn their feelings ahead of the upcoming tie.
Both teams will continue to practice throughout the week, and the official draw will take place on Thursday at Edmonton City Hall. There, the match-ups for the weekend will be unveiled.
