Canadian U14 boys qualify for semis at World Junior Tennis Finals

Canada’s U14 boys team earned a spot in the semifinals on Wednesday at the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals in Prostejov, Czech Republic.

Nick Lagaev, Alex-Antoine Marquis, and Luka Vukovic finished a perfect 3-0 in round robin play after finishing with a 2-1 win over Brazil. They lost just two matches in their three ties to finish atop Group B. Canada will play Korea in the semifinals on Thursday. The other semi will see Spain take on the United States.

The Canadian U14 girls team of Ariana Arseneault, Leylah Fernandez, and Viktoriya Tabunshchyk finished third in Group C after completing the round robin portion of the tournament with a 3-0 over Morocco. Canada will next play Paraguay in a 9-12 playoff.
