Champions were crowned on Tuesday at the U12 Rogers Outdoor Junior Nationals in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec.
Just like the indoor nationals this spring, the boys singles title went to Ashton Cross of Ontario and the runner up was Marko Stakusic, also of Ontario. Cross was a 6-2, 6-1 winner in the final. In fact, he lost just fourteen total games in his four matches in the championship flight.
Third place in singles went to Alex Lu of Ontario who beat Ghouse Faisal of Alberta 7-5, 7-5 in the 3-4 playoff. Faisal took home the boys doubles title alongside Aiden Drover-Mattinen.
Meanwhile, the girls singles final was also a battle of Ontario with Rachel Krzyzak getting the better of Dasha Plekhanova 6-1, 6-0 to be crowned national champion. Juliette Begin on Quebec finished third thanks to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Danielle Tuthen of B.C. in 3-4 playoff. Begin also captured the girls doubles title with Annabelle Xu. They defeated Tuthen and Chloe Suh Yoo in the final.
