Frank Dancevic has extended his win streak to 11 matches with an opening victory at the $15,000 Tevlin Futures at Aviva Centre in Toronto on Monday. He ousted fellow Canadian Pavel Krainik 6-1, 6-3 in the first round.

Following a straightforward first set, Dancevic fell behind 3-1 in the second before reeling off the next five games for the win. Champion of both the $15,000 Calgary Futures and Donalda Futures events in the past two weeks, he is the No. 1 seed at Aviva Centre. He will next face the winner of the match between Mexican Luis Patino and American Jared Hiltzik.

Canadian Alejandro Tabilo also opened his tournament on Monday, with the 18-year-old coming close to posting an upset over Japanese Kaichi Uchida before falling 6-7(2), 6-3, 7-5. A wild card ranked world No. 2052, Tabilo served for the match against his No. 645-ranked opponent before Uchida climbed back to take the victory.
