Genie Bouchard turns 22 today and to celebrate, here’s what we wish for Canada’s top WTA player on her birthday:
It’s no secret that Genie struggled with injuries in 2015, so health is a top priority for 2016 so that she can climb back up the rankings.
Bouchard notched her 9th win of the season with her second round victory over Denisa Allertova in Doha on Tuesday. She didn’t win her ninth match of 2015 until Cincinnati in August, so this wish is already coming true!
A successful partnership with Hogstedt
Early indications are that Genie’s new coach Thomas Hogstedt is a good fit for her and he has past success bringing champions like Li Na and Maria Sharapova back to the top of the game. Here’s to hoping he can work his magic again.
More awesome selfies
Don’t know about you, but we’ll never get tired of Genie’s amazing selfies from all the cool places she visits and with the fun people she meets along the way. Maybe we could send her some ideas?

An actual jump shot
It was so neat to have Genie and Milos represent Canadian tennis in the NBA All-Star celebrity game in Toronto earlier this month. Plus, Milos stole the show with his awesome dunk! And Genie made us laugh with her lack of basketball skills, from not knowing where to stand for a free throw and this hilarious attempt at a jump shot…
Happy Birthday Genie, may your 22nd year be the best one yet!
