Charlotte Robillard-Millette beat her Canadian compatriot Bianca Andreescu on Sunday to win her tenth straight match and second consecutive singles title at the Grade 1 ITF junior event in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, France.
Robillard-Millette came out on top 6-4, 7-5 in the all-Canadian final between two of the hottest players on the ITF junior circuit this season. The 16-year-old member of Tennis Canada’s National Training Centre picks up her first title at a Grade 1 event and improves to an impressive 20-4 on the year. She will improve her current career-high ranking of no. 36 on Monday and will remain Canada’s top ranked junior girl.
For her part, 14-year-old Andreescu is now 18-4 in 2015 with one title and four finals. She was appearing in her first Grade 1 ITF championship match.
Andreescu, Robillard-Millette, and Katherine Sebov will represent Canada this week at the junior Fed Cup qualifier event in Boca Raton, Florida.
