The program will now be offered in 21 clubs across Canada

Launched in 2007 in Quebec and in 2014 in Ontario, the National Bank Little Aces program is expanding this year and will be offered in 21 clubs across Canada in addition to a summer session that will begin in the next few weeks throughout the country. The goal is to reach as many young athletes as possible.

“Over the last seven years, more than 2000 kids have gone through the talent detection process which is managed by specialists in athlete development, Dr Georges Larivière, and Tennis Canada coach André Labelle. By expanding the program, we will be able to recruit more kids in the hope of finding our future champions, «said Eugène Lapierre, Vice-president of professional tennis in Quebec for Tennis Canada and co-founder of the National Bank Little Aces program. “We should start seeing the kids who were selected during the first years of the program breaking through on the international junior circuit over the next few years.”

The program was made possible by Tennis Canada and National Bank with the objective of identifying children between 6-8 to years of age with physical abilities that distinguish them from their peers. Therefore, the athletes that standout during this summer’s session will be encouraged to sign up for the program in September at one of the participating indoor clubs. They will also be invited to some selection camps in the fall. The kids who stay on after the selection camp will be offered the National Bank Little Aces program for free, which includes enriched lessons complementary to the regular club program.

“Over the past five years, National Bank has invested over $12 million in numerous initiatives for young people aimed at ensuring their health, promoting their education and empowering them to pursue their dreams. The Bank’s Young Aces Program perfectly illustrates the philosophy that drives this commitment. We are proud to see this program gain momentum and give more youngsters Canada-wide the opportunity to build their tennis skills,” stated Lise-Anne Amyot, Vice-President – Brand and Client Experience.

Parents who wish to enrol their kid in the summer program, are invited to contact the participating indoor club closest to their home.
