Tweets of the week: Wawrinka faces Kyrgios, Federer (sort of) returns

Another busy week on and off the courts for players, and we’ve got the best of the wins, drama (or non-drama) and of course, some laughs.

Roger Federer is on the mend after knee surgery, and to the joy of many — including himself — returned to practice.

It’ll be slow and steady for the Fed though, as he has already announced he won’t be playing Indian Wells this year.

As Tebbutt Tuesday also pointed out this week, the tennis scene has a lot going on recently, despite the absence of the usual suspects.

And Stan keeps sneaking his way into elite territory, too!

Speaking of Stan, the popcorn was super prepped for his match against Nick Kyrgios, who… stirred things up at Rogers Cup in Montreal last summer. Apologies aside, the drama piled up, but happily, there was no drama.

It was pretty anticlimactic in general, as Kyrgios retired early into the second set. Great to see sportsmanship between the two, as Stan moved into the final controversy-free.

Nole was also forced into a rare withdrawal, citing an eye infection. Before that, he earned another cool milestone in his impressive career.

How great was it to see DelPo back in action?

We also said happy birthday to Canada’s top singles WTA player (and Taylor Swift fan), Genie!

More cool honours for Milos!

Hard LOL at Vinci’s unimpressed face. I guess cats on the internet > cats on court. 😹

At least she didn’t get *THIS* mad. 😱

Always cool to see players watching tennis… and tweeting about it. 🙂

These two are just delightful. Don’t miss their hilarious *battle*!

Preach, Vasek! 🙌

I think everyone should wear t-shirts promoting themselves.
