For Coaches From Abroad and Former Players
Tennis Canada, in partnership with the Coaching Association of Canada, has a Competency Based Education Coaching Certification System. As such, it respects and recognizes your current teaching and coaching competence, including foreign coaches with ITF approved certification and Canadian coaches with significant coaching experience. Tennis Canada also recognizes coaching competence with respect to the playing background of former high level players.
Equivalency
The equivalency process allows experienced pros, coaches and former high level players to earn the equivalent of Tennis Canada’s entry level Instructor Course. Once approved by Tennis Canada, they will be required to fulfill some pre-requisites in order to obtain the Instructor certification, which will be explained in a confirmation letter.
Acceleration
The acceleration process allows pros, coaches and former high level players to bypass certain levels of certification and register for a higher level based on coaching, professional and playing experience.
Upon successful completion of the course they qualify for, the individual will receive the certification. Once approved by Tennis Canada and prior to attending the course, all candidates are required to fulfill some pre-requisites that will be explained in a confirmation letter.
To Apply
Interested candidates should submit their applications, including a CV, diplomas and certificates earned abroad, and proof of playing level, to the TPA via email c/o Marie-France Mercier at: mfmercier@tenniscanada.com.
