We are halfway through the second Grand Slam of 2023!

Hosts Ben Lewis and Mike McIntyre break down the action from Paris after one week of play at Roland-Garros 2023.

Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic are both in sharp form and could potentially clash in an electric semifinal. Holger Rune has looked strong in the bottom half of the draw and is Mike’s pick to win it all.

In the meantime, Canadian Denis Shapovalov produced his best result in Paris, reaching the third round.

“I think of all the Canadian players in singles, Denis is probably the one who can take the most positive out of what he did despite not making the second week of action,” said Mike.

Unfortunately, Felix Auger-Aliassime struggled with illness and injury, losing early.

The hosts also marveled at Iga Swiatek and her dominance as she cruised into the second week comfortably, winning all sets she played.

Bianca Andreescu made strides with a terrific opening-round win over Victoria Azarenka before going out in round three to Lesia Tsurenko.

Ben and Mike also tackle some controversy that unfolded in women’s doubles after a surprise default, and how Taylor Fritz handled a boisterous and tough crowd in France.

Enjoy!
