They broke twice in the opening set to secure the early lead and appeared to be headed for a straightforward day at the office when they went up a break in the second frame, but Paolini and Sherif fought back to level the score, even earning a set point at 6-5. In the tiebreak, Dabrowski and Routliffe proved to be the better team and built a big advantage to secure the win.

In the championship match, Dabrowski and Routliffe await the winners of the second semifinal pitting the top-seeded duo of Sarah Hunter and Elise Mertens against the American pair of Caroline Dolehide and Asia Muhammad.
Regardless of Saturday’s result, this latest run will very much improve Dabrowski and Routliffe’s chances of qualifying for the WTA Finals which would be an impressive feat considering they have only played a handful of tournaments together this season.
