In this latest episode of Game.Set.Canada, we take you behind the scenes with Team Canada presented by Sobeys at the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Glasgow, Scotland last November.

The Canadian squad, which included Bianca Andreescu, Gabriela Dabrowski, Leylah Annie Fernandez, Rebecca Marino, and Carol Zhao, was pegged as one of the favourites heading into the competition given their formidable lineup. It was one of the best Canadian tennis team ever assembled and they were determined to prove they belonged with the top countries in the world.

While Team Canada didn’t bring home the coveted trophy, the event was about much more than just their results on the court. It was also about their camaraderie, inspiring each other to reach new heights while also continuing to forge their legacies and establish their place within Canadian tennis history, both as individuals and as a group.

Most of all, it was about the pride each team member carries with them as they represented their country on the biggest stage. What it means to compete for one another and the flag on their backs.

The episode also features some incredibly wise words from the icon herself, Billie Jean King who accurately describes Team Canada as ‘driven’. Plus, an emotional Andreescu discusses her motivation to get back to where she belongs, in the upper echelon of the women’s game, embracing her status as a role model and setting the right example for those who look up to her.

Relive the emotions with the players during their Glasgow journey as we prepare for Team Canada’s much-anticipated return to Vancouver in April for their Qualifier tie against Belgium.
