We are now past the halfway point of the third major of the season at the All-England Club.

The 2023 Wimbledon Championships are soon coming to a close and to help break it all down, hosts Ben and Mike are joined by one of Canada’s most recognizable reporters, TSN’s Mark Masters.

Mark looks back at performances from Canadians and why he believes Bianca Andreescu is right on the doorstep of another big performance.

“I think she’s really close,” said Mark.

Andreescu lost in a tough three-set match in the third round to Ons Jabeur of Tunisia.

“This was a big step forward, she makes the third round – that first set on Centre Court, to come out like that guns blazing and take it from the finalist a year ago [Jabeur], I’m pretty heartened by what happened with Andreescu.”

Meanwhile, Mark reflected on the importance of Milos Raonic as a Canadian ambassador for tennis, as the former Wimbledon finalist likely played his final matches at the All-England Club.

“He is truly one of the great tennis players this country has produced – No. 3 in the world, the best ranking by a Canadian singles player.”

Masters also covers the performances from Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime, who were held back by knee injuries, and a close defeat for Leylah Annie Fernandez at the hands of Caroline Garcia.

As we look ahead to the second week, Novak Djokovic still appears to be the man to beat in the men’s field, while the hosts discuss if this is the season Iga Swiatek wins her maiden Wimbledon.

We also discuss the Cinderella runs from Mirra Andreeva and Christopher Eubanks.
