Iga Swiatek produced a triumphant finish to her campaign, winning the WTA Finals in Cancun, Mexico, and earning the year-end No. 1 for a second consecutive season.

We break down all the action from the WTA Finals on our latest episode of Match Point Canada!

In the meantime, our guest this week is Tennis Canada’s Senior VP of High Performance, and former tennis player, Hatem McDadi.

McDadi joins Ben and reflects on his 25-year journey with Tennis Canada, the growth of the sport in the country, and looks ahead to Billie Jean King Cup and Davis Cup Finals action.

“Tennis has been in my blood and part of my life since a youngster, and it’s been an incredible journey,” says McDadi.

He expanded on how far Canada has come in the sport, and the role recent success has had in further pushing it forward as a tennis nation.

“The breakthrough moments of Milos and Genie, the youngsters underneath them like Bianca, Leylah, Felix… and now ones coming up now saying ‘Wow. We can do this.’ Now there’s a culture of belief and winning,” explained McDadi.

McDadi also discusses the new high-performance pathways coming for Tennis Canada.
