2026 has been a big step forward for Bianca Andreescu, and she is finishing the year on a high note.
After scoring a pair of World Tennis titles earlier in the season to end a long singles title drought, the former major champion is now bringing home a third trophy of the year and the biggest one since claiming her Grand Slam title.
Here's what you need to know.
Under the Radar: Andreescu Claims Biggest Title Since 2019
After going over six years without winning a professional singles title, Bianca Andreescu has now lifted three trophies in 2026.
The former world No. 4 was crowned champion at the WTA 125 event in Rovereto, Italy, on Sunday, knocking off sixth seed Dominika Salkova in straight sets in the final. Andreescu lost just one set in the tournament, that being in her thrilling second-round upset of top seed Antonia Ruzic 7-5, 3-6, 7-5.
Andreescu defeated three seeds on her way to the title, No. 1 Ruzic, No. 5 Lucrezia Stefanini, and No. 6 Salkova.
With the win, the Mississaugan improves to 3-1 in finals in 2026, having won two titles on the World Tennis Tour in January. Her four finals this year are her most in a single season since her breakout 2019 year. The victory in Rovereto at the 125 level is her biggest title since winning the US Open in 2019.
Canada nearly had winners at all levels of the professional tours last week, but came up just short on the ATP Challenger and World Tennis Tours.
On home soil in Quebec City, Ariana Arseneault put on an impressive performance, reaching the semifinals of the singles and doubles final with compatriot Raphaelle Lacasse. The Canucks were edged out in the final 10-7 in the match tiebreak by Reese Brantmeier and Mimi Xu. Xu also beat Arseneault in the singles semis.

On the ATP Challenger Tour, Liam Draxl had his best result since reaching the final in Winnipeg in July, getting to the semifinals of the event in Jinan, China, as a qualifier. He upset second seed James Duckworth in the first round and a possible Davis Cup Finals opponent, sixth seed Tomas Mahac, in the quarter-finals before falling to No. 5 Martin Landaluce in the final four.
In Case You Missed It: Dabrowski sweeps Asia
There is not a more in-form doubles team in the world right now than Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani. The Canadian Brazilian duo became the first doubles pair since 2017 to sweep the Asian WTA 1000 events, backing up their Beijing title with a victory in Wuhan.
Dabrowski and Stefani dominated in Wuhan, not dropping a set on their way to the title. They were the top seeds and cruised into the final, where they knocked off the No. 3 pair of Storm Hunter and Katerina Siniakova in straight sets.

The victory is their third WTA 1000 title of 2026 and sixth title overall this season. They are also on a 13-match, three-tournament winning streak as they also won the WTA 250 event in Sao Paulo before heading to Asia. Their last loss was in the semifinals of the US Open.
While they have already qualified for the WTA Finals, the win in Wuhan moves Dabrowski and Stefani into first place in the race to Indian Wells.
In singles in Wuhan, Leylah Annie Fernandez reached the third round with wins over Ekaterina Alexandrova and Han Shi before falling to Jelena Ostapenko in three sets.
Over in Shanghai, Félix Auger-Aliassime's run came to a disappointing end in round four when he retired down 2-5 in the first set against Casper Ruud with a knee injury. The Montrealer has already announced his withdrawal from his upcoming events in Brussels, where he was the defending champion, and Basel.
The next opportunity to compete for Auger-Aliassime will be at the Masters 1000 event in Paris, where he reached the final last year.

What to Watch: Fernandez Off to Strong Start in Ningbo
There is only one Canadian competing in a main-tour event this week but she is already making an impact. Leylah Annie Fernandez caused an upset on Monday at the WTA 500 event in Ningbo, taking out seventh seed Elise Mertens 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the first round.
Fernandez will face Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the second round, with No. 3 seed Marta Kostyuk potentially looming in the quarter-finals. She is in the bottom half of the draw with No. 2 Iga Swiatek. World No. 1 Elena Rybakina is the top seed.
The Lavalloise is competing in Ningbo rather than defending her title at the WTA 250 event in Osaka.
Fernandez is also entered in doubles with her possible singles quarter-final opponent, Kostyuk. They will play Anna Bondar and Alina Korneeva in the first round, with top seeds Cristina Busca and Nicole Melichar-Martinez possibly waiting in the quarter-finals.

Gabriel Diallo made his return to competitive tennis over the weekend, competing in qualifying at the ATP 250 event in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where he reached the final back in 2024. The Montrealer had been out since suffering an injury at the National Bank Open in August but won his first match back over Harold Mayot in straight sets. However, he lost in the final round of qualifying to Rei Sakamoto in three sets.
