Tennis Canada announced that Team Canada’s 2026 Davis Cup Qualifiers 1st Round tie between Canada and Brazil will be broadcast by TVA Sports and livestreamed on CBC Sports’ YouTube channel. The first day of play will begin at 4 p.m. PT (7 p.m. ET) on Friday, February 6, followed by day two on Saturday, February 7, starting at 1 p.m. PT (4 p.m. ET).

Led by captain Frank Dancevic (Niagara Falls, ON), the Canadian roster will consist of Gabriel Diallo (Montreal, QC), Liam Draxl (Newmarket, ON), Alexis Galarneau (Laval, QC), Nicolas Arseneault (Richmond Hill, ON), and Cleeve Harper (Calgary, AB). The 2022 champions hope to keep their Davis Cup Final 8 chances alive, having missed out on the final stage of the competition this past season for the first time since 2021.

On the other side of the court, the Brazilian team includes Joao Lucas Reis Da Silva, Gustavo Heide, Matheus Pucinelli De Almeida, Orlando Luz, Rafael Matos, and team captain Jaime Oncins. Canada and Brazil previously faced each other in 2007 in Florianopolis, Brazil, where Canada lost 3-1. Brazil currently leads their head-to-head 4-2.

“Fans will once again be able to count on TVA Sports and CBC Sports to follow the Canadian team's exploits at the Davis Cup, and we are extremely grateful for these continued partnerships,” said Gavin Ziv, Chief Executive Officer of Tennis Canada. “We know how passionate Canadian fans are about the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup, and being able to watch, cheer, and celebrate victories alongside our teams. That is why we continue to prioritize having multiple ways to watch these events, with the goal of making tennis accessible to as many participants, fans, and viewers as possible. The upcoming tie against Brazil promises to be an exciting one, and we are fortunate to have the support of TVA, CBC, and our fans.”

The winning country will advance to the Qualifiers 2nd Round, while the losing nation will move to World Group I in the hopes of returning to the Qualifiers in 2027. Both events will be held in September.
