The Canadians will be competing in Group C alongside Spain and Poland

The official draw for the Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals was held today in London, United Kingdom, and the 12 countries that qualified for the Finals were divided into four groups. Team Canada presented by Sobeys will be competing out of Group C along with third-seeded Spain and Poland in a round-robin tournament to be held in Seville, Spain.

“This will be the third consecutive year that we are playing in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be back,” said Team Canada Captain Heidi El Tabakh. “Once again, we will be part of a very good group to start the competition, with Poland playing its second final in a row, and Spain, the third-ranked nation, getting the chance to play at home in front of their fans as hosts. I’m confident that we have all the firepower necessary to compete with the best nations in the world and we can’t wait to get on court to prove it.”

The Finals will take place from November 7 to 12, 2023. The 12 nations will compete in four round-robin groups of three teams with the four group winners advancing to the semi-finals. The winner of Group A will play the winner of Group C, and the winner of Group D will face the winner of Group B.
