With the group stage beginning today, Team Canada will have three countries to fend off as in their search for their first title at the tournament.

Across the three first days, Team Canada will play in ties against Australia, Czechia, and Latvia.

Czechia will be a tough opponent for Team Canada as they previously won the tournament in 2021 and finished as runners-up the following year.

Team Canada will look to its rising stars as they search for a knock-out round berth.

Lagaev has two junior titles to her name so far, winning one in 2022 and 2023. Her most recent victory came at a junior ITF tournament in Quebec City back in May.

Marton, on the other hand, is searching for her first title in her young career. She previously reached the quarter-finals of a junior ITF tournament in Quebec City in September.

Finally, Comiskey will look to bounce back from a tough finals loss at a junior ITF tournament in Mexico a few weeks ago. Though Comiskey hasn’t yet won a title in singles, she won four in doubles in 2022.

To qualify for the quarter-finals, Team Canada will need to finish second in their group.
